Title： Quality, Upgrades and Equilibrium in a Dynamic Monopoly Market
Abstract： We examine an infinite horizon model of quality growth for a durable goods monopoly. Quality improvements may be sold in any desired bundles. Consumers are identical and for a quality improvement to have value the buyer must possess previous qualities: goods are upgrades.
Subgame perfect seller payoffs range from capturing the full social surplus down to only the initial flow value of each good. For any discount factor, each of these payoffs is realized in a Markov perfect equilibrium that follows the socially efficient path. However, inefficient delay equilibria, with bundling, exist for innovation rates above a threshold.

Title： Roles of Global Response: The Existence of Genome Vehicle for Cell Fate Decision (大域応答の役割：幹細胞分化を誘導する新たなゲノム行動の存在)
講演内容：
・システムバイオロジーの実験データに基づくモデルとして，平均値と切り替わりによるハイブリッドモデルが，癌などの発達メカニズムの基本となりうること，またその変化の経路を制御可能であることを，数値解析により得られることの詳細な説明があった．
・ゲノムの配列が外乱によりどのように過渡的に変化するかを，実験データの統計処理により得る手法について，さらにそのデータにより力学的解析が可能であるとの説明があった．特に，特定の配列のアトラクタの抽出およびその引き込み領域がフラクタル状を成すことの説明があった．

[Theme]
In this workshop the recent advancement of experiments and theories will be discussed on superconductivity, emergent phenomena in biological material, chemical properties and economic problems of non-living and living systems. The aim of this workshop is to discuss such old but still new problems from multidisciplinary perspective and to understand the general features behind diversity in condensed matter physics, experimental chemistry, physical basis in biology and economic science. We also plan to invite young scientists as well as graduate students. We hope that such young scientists have chance to talk with invited speakers and organizers on their own interests. We do not want to have a tight schedule, but instead to have a relatively enough time for discussion.

公開講座のテーマと目的
本講義は、昨年度は「文系・生命科学系のための現代物理学」として開講された。今年度は、タイトルを「統合科学への展望」と改訂して文系・理系学生向けの生命系・複雑系に関する実験や理論を紹介したい。従来までの要素還元論に代表される現代科学では、「生命系」を物質へと還元し、その要素としてのタンパク質や遺伝子の構造や機能を探究する研究が主流であった。この研究は、遺伝子中心主義とともにヒトゲノム計画を強力に推進する原動力となったことは言うまでもない。ところが、遺伝子のスイッチを入れたり切ったりするプロセスは、遺伝子自体には書かれていないのである。その情報は、実は、環境にあったのだ。これが、エピジェネティック（遺伝子外）と呼ばれる新しい生物学の潮流となってきた。一方、原子が集まって分子となった際に、原子には存在しなかったあらたな特性が創発する、いわゆる創発現象は、すでに化学では古くから知られていた。近年、「複雑系」と総称される多様な要素からなるシステムは、要素の研究だけではとらえることができず、こうした創発現象として生命現象をもとらえる必要性が認識されるようになってきた。生命系・複雑系を統一的にとり扱う意義は、要素の違いによらずに、創発現象がみられること、そして、一方のシステムの理解が他方のシステムの理解につながる可能性があること、その結果として、生命系・複雑系それぞれに対する本質的な理解が得られることなどが期待される点にある。要素への還元という常套手段を排除するのではなく、逆にその手段の成果を踏まえた上で、異なる分野の研究成果を「統合」することから、新しい科学の創造に向けた展望を語りたい。
